TECHNARTE RESIDENCY TENERIFE is a joint project for the development of an artist residency on Tenerife Island. This residency aims to link art, culture and technology, and will be promoted internationally. The goal of this program is the creation of two artistic projects that integrate the fields of technology, science and innovation into their reflexion, production and execution processes. The key scientific focus of the 2021 residency program is determined as energy transition. The final objective is the production of a work of art that includes, as an indispensable element, the scientific work and research carried out in Tenerife in its most internationally recognized fields, whether in the conceptual or productive development of the work.
The call is especially interested in those artists and projects that: Use technology as a fundamental element in their process of creation or production of the work or artistic project / Seek to explore new ways of approaching and understanding contemporary art, both from the creative part and from the exhibition of the final work to the viewer / Show in their proposals the investigation and integration of the scientific environment in which they will reside, in their creative process or work / Submit an artistic project or work that can be carried out within the deadlines indicated in the established dates section.
The total duration of the residency program will be a maximum of 30 days including the initial research residency, and stay during the execution of the work on the Island of Tenerife. The residency will run between the months of January and/or February 2022 . The final start and end dates are subject to TECHNARTE's final evaluation to ensure the best conditions for the winning artist.
The open call for applications closes on 11 November 2021 at 10:59 p.m. (UTC / GMT +01: 00) Atlantic/Canary, those applications received later will not be taken into account. A TECHNARTE Account must be created on their website to apply.
