A multidisciplinary artist-in-residence program founded by renowned artist Kehinde Wiley.
The open call for applications for the 2024-2025 cycle of Black Rock Senegal will be open from November 15, 2023 at 12:00 PM (EST) until January 15, 2024. All applications must be submitted before 11:59 PM (EST) on January 15, 2024.
Please note, applicants will be prompted to create a login to access the portal, which will also allow you to save versions of your application and contact technical support. If you created a login to apply last year, you can use the same login details to apply for the new 2023 season.
Each application will require:
1. Cover Letter
2. Current CV
3. Portfolio Works (Description and Images)
Please note, the number of portfolio works required changes depending on your selected medium on the first page of the application.
Interested applicants should submit all required materials via our online application form. Please note that we will not accept applications that do not follow the guidelines. There is no fee for submitting an application.

There is no theme to each cycle of the residency and artists working on a variety of projects are encouraged to apply.

Black Rock Senegal is a multidisciplinary artist residency. We accept artists working across painting, photography, mixed media, textiles, film, sculpture, and sound/performance.

Residents are hosted at Black Rock Senegal for 1-3 month residencies.
