Selection Process
Twenty residents are selected. In addition to the evaluation of the candidate’s professional background, the selection committee members will pay particular attention to the quality of the project, its link with the theme of the residency (reflection on contemporary social, political, environmental and technological issues) and the importance of its location in France for its development.
The selection committee is composed of international leading figures from the world of art and research, and representatives of the Cité internationale des arts and the Art Explora Foundation. Each year, selected applicants are announced in January 2024 for residents staying between March and August 2024 and in May 2024 for residents staying between September 2024 and February 2025.

Residency Conditions
Each resident benefits from:

  • 3 or 6-month residency at the Cité internationale des arts – Montmartre site
  •  A studio-apartment of about 50sqm (only one double bed), fully equipped and furnished
  • grant of 1,000 euros per month
