short-term Summer residency for transdisciplinary Collectives AT DAS LOT IN VIENNA
• Timeframe: 1.-31.08.2026
• Deadline: 22.02.2026
Das LOT - a space for transdisciplinary art and artistic research in Vienna offers transdisciplinary collectives a unique opportunity to work in a free, well-equipped space dedicated to artistic exploration and experimentation. Designed for groups without their own workspace, these residencies provide time, space, technical resources, and optional mentorship to support innovative artistic research.
The program emphasizes the importance of collaboration and cross-disciplinary exchange, culminating in an open presentation of each collective's current "state of art." The residency emphasizes collaboration, critical inquiry, and collective learning over traditional artistic outcomes. So feel free to apply with open research projects, first thoughts or new ideas.
TO APPLY, PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:
- RESEARCH: Describe the artistic research you intend to explore in your residency. Explain its significance and how it aligns with the transdisciplinary vision of das LOT. This should be a full one-page document answering to our criteria below.
- PORTFOLIO: Provide a portfolio that showcases your past work and collaborative projects, if applicable. This will help us understand your artistic practice and background.
- YOUR CONTRIBUTION: You will get one of the best equipped spaces for contemporary art and its equipment one month for free, therefore there is no additional payment. Instead we kindly ask you to take good care of das LOТ and would like to know: What can you contribute to das LOT and its vision? Could be an improvement of the space, something artistic, network or ideas etc.
- CONTACT INFORMATION: Include your name, contact details, how much time your residency would need and your prefered dates in August. There might be a possibility to split between more than one group, if their prefered dates align.
