The S+T+ARTS yearly competition awards two innovative projects at the nexus of science, technology and the arts that have what it takes to make a significant impact on economic and social innovation. Two prizes, each with €20,000 prize money, are offered to honor innovative projects at the intersection of science, technology and the arts: The emphasis of both prizes lies on the creative appropriation and employment of technologies as well as the search for unique constellations of collaboration from the STARTS fields.
Every submission to the S+T+ARTS Prize competition can also be entered for the European Union Prize for Citizen Science and Prix Ars Electronica prize consideration and vice versa. In other words, it’s possible for a single project to win both the S+T+ARTS Prize 2023 as well as a Prix Ars Electronica Golden Nica grand prize.
The call starts on January 11, 2023 and ends on March 3, 2023.
All eligible projects will be judged by the S+T+ARTS Prize Jury. They will determine 30 finalist projects, from which the two prize-winning projects and up to ten honorary mentions are chosen.
