Created in 2020, the UNESCO-Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Prize for the Creative Economy aims to reward exceptional projects or programmes that promote youth entrepreneurship in the creative economy. Special attention is given to initiatives that seek to promote the development of entrepreneurship skills and the participation of traditionally excluded groups, particularly women and migrant and diaspora communities. The Prize rewards initiatives – rather than entrepreneurs per se – that are innovative and/or have a high proven impact.
The 50,000 USD Prize is awarded on a biennial basis. The first award ceremony will be held in November 2021.
